buy custom The Good essay

buy custom The Good essay This is a book written by Silas house. The books main character is Eli. In the natural and everyday life, a child is born in natural and good environment that has trust and order. But then there also comes a time when things change around for the young and children discover that life is confusing, messy and sometimes even becomes chaotic. Such a mishap causes the world for a child to look like it has tilted and happens to cause a lot of unsteadiness and also sense of frightening suddenly. At this point, the child experiences a sudden vertigo. In the book Eli the good such a moment happened to him in 1976 and Eli was ten years old. Eli narrates the story about himself and the family of how the family undergoes a transition. To speak the truth, the summer of 1976 was a period no man can forget and especially crow county of Kentucky where Eli lives. Eli does not seem to know the changes that he is facing but goes through them anyway. He spends most of days when young hanging out with his best friend Edie though she is a girl and snoops on his sister and the boyfriend. At his tender ages he discovers that all the people he associates with have secrets and one by one starts to unravel the truth. Eli realizes that life continues like the refuge river that flows near his house even if anything is thrown into it. He has a journal where he records everything every thing that is happens or goes on around him and is from these journal entries that he is able to narrate the story. Eli is depicted by the writer as being a very observant child that is able to pay attention and reason of how things are happening around him. He goes to an extent of realizing how much strong lov his father and mother have towards each other and he even becomes jealousy the his mother loves his father more than him. In addition to that, he notices the tenderness his sister holds for him despite the fact that her sixteen years old sister is angry at the world. He also notices the pain that his best friend Edie suffers when her parents separate. As if that is not enough, he takes note of the commitment that Nell, his aunt has towards her brother (Elis Dad). He looks too young to understand these things but he understands them anyway. He is also aware of the painful experiences of his dad while in Vietnam and also of how a wedge, things have destroyed the relationship with his father (Brennan 96). Time and again, Elis mother tries to smoothen things up and insist on that everything is fine, but little Eli is not a boy to joke with, he seeks to understands things much better the way they are happening. He also seems to get strength by observing trees, the sun and the river in order to live life despite all these challenges. The reader easily gets connected with this tale especially the understanding of the Vietnam War because it wasnt clear of what was happening. There was trouble in the oil industry as oil was becoming a currency and that alone would push the world economy and politics. But the pace then was slow. Then, there were no mobile phone and wire of telephone were crossing the streets, the rivers were clean and anybody interested would swim in any river and even drink water directly, and the neighbors knew each other so well. People used to grow slowly and life was natural because everything happened at the right time. Now this is the environment that is described as ending in the book Eli the good and slowly another culture is crippling in through this story. It is also important to note that within this tale, there is violence that shocks suddenly. However it is mean to unfold the story and also magnifies the kind of confusion that Eli undergoes and explains to the reader the reality that produces chaos at the root of confusion. Although there is no sex, it becomes a centre of attention in the tale. At that time, sex was so innocent and nobody would discuss that topic anywhere and it is amazing what the reader understands that the only fear of having sex then was only pregnancy whereas nowadays, there are so many fears associated with having sex the main one being the HIV/AIDS prevalence. Psychology also bounds this great tale of Eli the Good; it vividly explains that the Oedipus complexes are seen to be thicker than a July evening. Mythology is also used especially when the Wounded Warriors, the Goddess of homes described as stirring the world into action. Elis theology also leaks out of his life and the community in which he lives. Eli seeks to become a part of nature that is welcoming to him. There is also contrast in the tale while the father to Eli if a war vet dedicated in serving his nation in defense against Vietnam, his sister if a war protestor and criticized the war. According to the author, the family is the centre of the tale. The stability of the family, definition and direction will always enable an individual to develop naturally in terms of emotions, psychologically, theologically and in so doing, the family and the entire world will become a healthy place where people grow up with moral understanding. Trustworthy testimonials how to write

Trustworthy testimonials how to write A Comprehensive Guide on Writing a Testimonial A testimonial is a personal statement, which concentrates on the main qualities of a person, product, or service. It is a way of sharing the opinion about any issue, including businesses and enterprises. In most of the cases, it concentrates on positive features of a product or service. If you are willing to leave positive feedback, make sure it contains three elements: Description of the problem; Showing benefits of the Conclusion Steps of Writing a Trustworthy Testimonial Tell About Yourself Always start feedback with key details about yourself. This will make the testimonial personalized, and your opinion will have more weight. However, you need to adjust the quantity and quality of personal information to every type of product or service. Describe the Problem Proceed with discussing the situation you have faced before you found out about a person/product or service. This will be the basis of the testimonial and will explain how valuable your review will be. Try to include lots of facts to support your point of view but always remain clear and straight to the point. Such facts will help readers to compare how your situation has changed before and after using the service or product. An evidence-based testimonial is what all customers need!   For example, if your company had difficulties with sales, you can leave the following comment â€Å"My enterprise was selling only 20 products per day before using the services of a sales expert. Now they have reached 500 products per day.’ Tell About Additional Options Tell about the products or services you have used to solve the issue. The main idea here is to explain how others failed to solve your problem. The best way to present a company in the best light is to compare it with competitors, who were not able to help you. Based on the example above, you can say, â€Å"We hired XXX, a leading advertiser in the city, to promote our products. However, the number of sales didn’t increase.’ Indicate Possible Obstacles You can discuss any problems you have faced with the previous service or company, and tell how you overcame the situation. A good example can be the cost of the service. Based on the previous example you can say, â€Å"We decided not to use XXX advertiser, which is more expensive than the YYY one. However, they didn’t show any results, and we decided to give XXX a chance’. How the Problem Was Solved? Start a new paragraph by providing key facts about the product or service. Tell what it does and explain in details how it helped to solve your issue. For example, based on the information in previous samples, you can say â€Å"The XXX company used online promotion as the key tool to sell our product. It also used web markets to advertise us and also has employees, who move from supermarket to supermarket and offer products. Since hiring them, we have increased our sales to 400%, which is a significant result.’ You should also mention any specific and unique services or offers the company has. In such a way, you will give them more value. It is a great factor when users decide whether to choose a particular company or not. You can say ‘We were pleasantly surprised to get an extra month of their services for free.’ Don’t Forget About a Personal Note In case the result has exceeded your expectations, you can mention it by praising the company or a particular person. You can even give names and tell that it was a pleasure working with them. It is very important because the employees you mention can be rewarded by the company. You can also distinguish a particular employee even if the whole team worked perfectly well. For example, ‘Members of the team managed to promote and sell our product within tightest deadlines, but John did, even more, devoting lots of time to communicating with potential customers. We are sure that without his efforts, the results would be not so great.’ Quantify the Results If you want to impress readers and to give them a clear picture of what to expect from a product or service, it is important to give numbers. Moreover, they should match those, which you used to explain your issue. For example, if you are writing a testimonial for an advertiser and your main problem is a low quantity of sales, you should indicate an exact number you had before and after cooperating with a particular company. Tell How You Surpassed the Obstacles Discuss how you feel about the problems that you have faced and indicate whether they were as big as you have imagined before working with the chosen company or product. For example, if you couldn’t decide whether to work with XXX because of their high fees, it is necessary to highlight whether the result was eventually worth it. This section is the last one in the body part of your testimonial, and now you only need to come up with the conclusion. Summarize Your Experience In a few sentences, explain how the product or service helped to solve your problem. This should be the third paragraph of your review. You should also write a few words about why you decided to leave a testimonial. For example, ‘When John from XXX advertiser asked whether I could write a testimonial about their service, I didn’t hesitate, because they did a great job and it was the least I could do for them.’ Would you Recommend the Service to Others? A good testimonial always contains encouragement, which motivates other users to try out the service and to benefit from them. For a better result, you can refer to a certain group of people based on the niche you are occupying. For example, ‘I recommend XXX services to owners of enterprises that are only starting their path and know nothing about their market.’ Include a Call for Action Although you have already recommended the product or service to the reader, you can still make additional encouragement to motivate others and to pay extra attention to the company. For example, ‘If you are launching a new product, just call XXX advertiser! They provide outstanding services, and the first consultation is free of any charges.’ Why Testimonials Are so Important Here are only some of the reasons why testimonials are important: Higher conversion rates By reaching the target audience, they can stimulate interest and increase the activity of potential users and customers. A tool to study the behavior of customers Reading testimonials is a great way to know what other people think about a particular product or service. It is a well-known fact that people are more willing to risk their money to purchase a new item if they previously get familiar with positive feedbacks. Proof of success When a person reads testimonials and sees that others have reached success due to a particular product or company, they also want to try it out. They make your product more value If you are an owner of such a service or company, testimonials are a great way to persuade potential customers. Instead of filling your website with watery texts, you can add a separate testimonial page. Features of a Good Testimonial It should be brief and straight to the point. In most of the cases people won’t read a long and watery text, simply skipping it; It should be direct. You should make clear statements so that the readers can understand them at once; It should be original and written from scratch. No copies or generic messages. Where to Place Testimonials To reach a maximum number of readers, place feedbacks on many different websites. Place them on the page of products or services. In such a way readers will see relevant comments at once; Place them on popular websites. This is one of the most effective tools, because such pages have more visitors, so more people will see the testimonial; To increase the conversion rate, place the testimonial on optimized pages; Place them on a landing page; Place them on a home page; Create a separate page with testimonials; Place on sidebars within quotation marks; Place on page with stories from customers. Testimonials for Your Business A customer testimonial is a feedback that is written by a customer, who is satisfied with the quality of a product or service. Such testimonial motivates others to try the product or company out. It helps to build a reputation. Testimonials give information about why others like your services or products. This is a great way to attract more customers and to build a solid reputation because more and more people will share what they like about your product; It creates trust between your company and customers. This can have a positive impact on the company because when customers tell about their positive experience with your services, they give others a chance to know more about your enterprise; A chance to overcome skepticism. Reviews attract more and more customers, familiarizing them with your services and products, and the way others benefited from cooperating with them; Testimonials are objective. Unlike your own descriptions, testimonials tell about the experience of other users and deliver a clear picture of the pros and cons your product or service has; It gives a chance to learn what others think about the services and products you provide. In such a way, you can improve the qualities of your services and create a tighter bond with your customers. You can ask them for testimonials, creating a separate draft letter. With its help, you can also encourage them to share your feedback with other users and to explain how their testimonial will be used. In case a particular customer has left a comment via a personal letter, you need to ask for permission to make it public. Remember, private feedbacks should never be posted without the previous permission of a client; Testimonials can promote your product or services in case the message is positive (i.e. ‘this company is the best’ or ‘their product is excellent’). It is a great tool to explain all of the benefits of your company or product. For example, ‘XXX company helped to significantly increase the number of sales: from 500 to 1700 in a single month.’ This will greatly improve interest in your company because readers would also want to get the same improvements for their own enterprises and businesses; Testimonials help to prove your points. Quality testimonials will surely explain how your product or company can provide the best services to ensure the prosperity of your enterprise. In addition, they will explain why the service or product is beneficial for a particular group of customers. It will also show that you keep your words and meet all of the expectations. It is one of the most effective ways of attracting more and more customers to your company; Positive testimonials will help your product to stand out. If a big number of reviewers will tell about the benefits of your company, more and more people will be encouraged to choose you instead of your competitors. Through testimonials, users will get more information about your product and will be aware of all the positive effects it has. Hopefully, this guide has given you all the information you need to know on writing testimonials and making them one of the most powerful instruments in achieving success!

Definition of Curriculum Paper Research Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Definition of Curriculum - Research Paper Example The curriculum development and proper allocation of curriculum to the academic area forms an important part of this process. This paper aims to define and analyze curriculum and its importance and application in the nursing field. The definition of curriculum is defined by different researchers in different ways. The existence of curriculum and its relative importance, however, cannot be ignored in any field. Traditionally curriculum was defined as the path and lessons of study or the material being taught. Others like Oliva(2005) believe that curriculum points towards and makes its way to achieve some ‘purpose’. In the modern era, the definition of curriculum is widened and comprises a body of knowledge and procedures to define the objectives and results (Ellis 2004, p. 4). Regardless of the prevalent differences in the definitions of curriculum, it is evident that curriculum is designed and used with a motive to increase learning and working efficiency, determining and communicating goals and providing a path to move in order to gain knowledge about certain subjects and matters. In the field of nursing, curriculum plays a vital role in explaining the nature, extent and scope of the profession. The practices are related to the health and require closer attentions by the practitioners, hence, curriculum and active learning helps in understanding the peculiar tasks. The nursing area requires higher attention to every task assigned, practice performed and care given (Iwasiw et al. 2009 pp. 4-7). Curriculum in nursing practices and learning environment helps in identifying the potentially risky areas and an insight to resolve those issues. In the nursing practice, curriculum provides detailed analyses of the situations that may arise in the practical application of the learned concepts. These practical areas like hospitals and other healthcare service providers use the theoretical understanding as a key to proper nursing care. The internship requireme nts of nursing curriculum helps in developing the initial practical working experience in the nurses. Such requirements are helpful in training the nurses under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced healthcare practitioners. In conclusion, it can be said that the curriculum provides a good informational and practical structure to train nurses. The requirements and rules of curriculum help in understanding the aim of the profession, legal responsibilities and theoretical knowledge of the concepts related to the field. Bibliography Ellis, A. Corporate Governance- Proposal Dissertation Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words

Corporate Governance- Proposal - Dissertation Example The core objective of corporate governance is to prevent the negative impact of the unethical business practises on society. The past experience of the corporate governance failure has offered enough evidences for negative impact of society due to corporate failure. On the other hand, the theories of society and business relations explain that every business owes to society and hence, its major priority is to meet the social responsibilities by not practising any unethical business activities (Eweje, 2004, p.16). However, with the passage of time, the rate of corporate governance failure has increased significantly due to multiple corporate scandals. On the other hand, at present, the relationship between the business and society has become more important and it has been evolving constantly. Therefore, the responsibilities of business towards its society have also become more significant. In this respect, management of stakeholders and business ethics are two most necessary criterion s. Both of these two aspects are generally addressed in the code of the corporate governance that strives to meet the overall responsibilities of society (Carroll and Buchholtz, 2008, p.24). Considering the prevailing importance of corporate governance for the social and economic benefits, many developed countries and world organisations like OECD have developed certain common and desirable code in corporate governance. Other developing countries and emerging nations usually follow these codes of corporate by making certain adjustment based on their own culture, belief and business policies. For example, in Islamic countries (mainly in Middle East region), the entire financial market is based on Islamic religious law known as Sharia. However, the role of corporate governance is to control and guide the companies for practising and conducting the ethical business (Swanson and Fisher, 2011, p.275). 1.2. Saudi Regulations of Corporate Governance The growing importance of the capital ma rkets and other financial markets raise the necessity of a matured corporate governance system so that investors’ trust can be maintained. Hence, the Saudi Arabian Government strived develop a standard set of corporate governance codes in accordance to the compliance of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). â€Å"In February 2009, the World Bank (WB) released its Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC) Country Assessment on Corporate Governance in Saudi Arabia† (eStandardsForum, 2010). Saudi Corporate Governance is based on six principle including â€Å"Ensuring the Basis for an Effective Corporate Governance†; â€Å"The Rights of Shareholders and Key Ownership Function†; â€Å"The Equitable Treatment of Shareholders†; â€Å"The Role of Stakeholders in Corporate Governance†; â€Å"Disclosure and Transparency†; and â€Å"The Responsibilities of the Board† (eStandardsForum, 2010). It means that the purchasing power will be decreased and the market will be more fluctuated. Focusing to research and plan to maintain sales volume is necessary for Seiko. On the other hand, the unemployment rate in Singapore is at 2.10 percent in the third quarter of 2010 (Refer Appendix 11). The expertise in quality manufacturing, precision engineering and design miniaturization has contributed to building Seiko brand one of the most respected, most powerful reputation in the world. 5.0 Recommendations The model from Ansoffs Matrix shown below suggests strategies for market development in business operation of Seiko in order to maintain strengths, increase brand awareness, distribution channels and market share for company in luxury watches market in Singapore. Source: Hollenesen (2003) 5.1 Segmentation Targeting and Positioning (STP) Marketing Segmentation and Targeting are two steps in the process, which Seiko must use in order to identify who is companys customer in the luxury watch market in Singapore. John Stuart Mill Essay

Moral theories try to explain what distinguishes right actions from wrong ones. The theory of utilitarianism tries to do the same by incorporating several aspects that set up a moral standard to help investigate the balance between right and wrong. John Stuart Mill, a British philosopher of the 1800’s defends the utilitarian school of thought by pointing out what it is that makes utilitarianism the standard theory for morality. According to Utilitarianism as explained by Mill in his essay â€Å"In Defense of Utilitarianism† the fundamental principle of morality is the promotion of happiness on a scale that benefits an individual and the ones around him; also to promote pleasure and to prevent pain. Several major objections are raised towards the moral theory of utilitarianism some examples can be the idea that the theory asserts too much emphasis on pursuing pleasure which makes it â€Å"a doctrine worthy of swine† (â€Å"Defense†). Another objection is that in everyday circumstances it is impossible for humans to make a morally just decision (â€Å"Defense†). An additional counter-argument that struck me the most was the statement that utilitarianism sets standards that are deemed â€Å"too high for humanity† (â€Å"Defense†). What this objection projects are the predisposed and unwarranted capabilities of the human race. According to this statement humanity is made comparable to other (lower ranking) species that lack the intrinsic values that make us humans human; like thinking faculties that are much superior to other animals or the ability to have languages or develop intricate cultural systems, just to name few. Therefore, making this objection a weak one and one that displays an inferior and subjacent view towards the principle of morality. Mill on the other hand deduces the true motives of these objections and labels these ideas as being of such nature that promote actions in accordance with one obliging to a certain duty. If that is the case then individuals can be comprised of nothing but a niche in society. He argues that ethics holds the responsibility of outlining our duties, fulfilling them is dependent only on factors that promote the larger well being of a society. Mill states such objections as â€Å"misapprehensions† and transcribes an important point which nonetheless reconstructs and fabricates the idea of utilitarianism; he states â€Å"this affirms that the motive has nothing to do with the morality of the action, though much with the worth of the agent. † (â€Å"Defense†).

Should College Athletes Be Paid For The Poor Or Middle...

According to the U.S census, there are 16 million college students and 71% end up in student loan debt;and that number has been increasing since 2012 and has combined to a total of 1.3 million dollars in student loan debt.Student loan debt has become a recurring issue over the years with students, presidential candidates, governments fighting for ways or not fighting for ways to implement new programs to make college cheaper but it has not been efficient in making college affordable for the poor or middle class. This is such an important topic for me and those 16 million students more than half of whom are struggling to pay off that student debt. This is why I believe that researching the overwhelming concern that there is not much support for both college athletes and academically excelled students, who struggle to pay for college because of how expensive it is and how little scholarships they receive despite their excellence is important to helping spread the need for change to help decrease student debt.High School athletes who decide to play sports at the collegiate level get the chance to go to college and play their sport while having their expenses covered entirely;despite this, it is an opportunity only given to very few students.Just like athletes struggle most colleges will not offer a full-time scholarship to students with higher academic success unless that student has higher than a 34 on the act or a grade point average higher than a 4.0,which is statisticallyShow MoreRelatedShould College Athletes Get Paid?
